Christina Lake

Christina Lake is a small community centred round the southern end of the lake called Christina Lake.

It has a golf course, a beach on the lake and lots of activities for the tourist in the summer. People come here from Alberta as well as from British Columbia. It is the warmest tree lined lake in B.C. When I swam in the lake on 1st June last year I was among a lot of others with the same idea! Towards the east of the lake you could see House Boats. There is plenty of room by the shore for picnicking with many tables for the families to sit around.

One of my favourite activities is walking or cycling along the Trans Canada Trail. We usually park by the trail which is quite near the border crossing to Spokane, just past the Cascade falls. If you go towards the west you can divert from the path to see the falls, a spectacular sight especially in the Spring Time. If you go towards the east, you cross over a bridge and head upwards on the route towards Castlegard. Towards the northern end of the lake is a trail head walk. Another walk worth doing!
